Just put in the number of bulbs you intent to change, the cost of the bulb you intend to buy and the cost of what a traditional bulb costs to buy and our calculator will work out your savings. Unlike any other energy saving calculator, we have created a program that uses more info than just electrical savings and simple assumptions. Our calculator works out your savings using the following:
1) The cost of replacing an incandescent bulb every 2000 hours. LED bulbs last approximately 50,000 hours and our calculator also builds in the cost of replacing these at the appropriate interval.
2) You can adjust the graph to display inflation on energy costs. This is set to 10% by default but you can use the slider to a level where you feel is appropriate.
3) You can see how much you will save over a time span of between 1 to 30 years. As LED bulbs have such a long life span it is possible that it could last 30 years if only used for 4.5 hours per day.
